CAL FIRE/San Diego County Fire firefighters are taking proactive measures to ensure the safety of our community. A dedicated 6-person Swift Water Rescue Team will be on standby at our headquarters for the duration of the weather event, ready to respond to any water-related emergencies. Hot, dry, and windy conditions along with lightning strikes have sparked the TCU September Lightning Complex Fire, and CAL FIRE crews are fully engaged in the response. The fire has burned 13,790 acres and is 15% contained. Engines, dozers, hand crews, helicopters, and airtankers are all working together to slow the fire, reinforce containment lines, and protect communities in the area.
