Meet our newest satellite tracked turtle, Oualie (pronounced like “Wally”). This gorgeous female hawksbill is part of a very important nesting population of critically endangered hawksbill turtles on the island of Nevis. Although later than usual, the hawksbill turtle nesting season is now in full swing, with daily emergence of nesting hawksbills on D’Arros. This has resulted in an increase in turtle tracks recorded during turtle walks, which are often longer due to frequent encounters with nesting turtles.
