A China-developed vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft recently completed its first manned flight at 5,000 m above sea level on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. This ultra-light aircraft, which weighs about the same as an adult human, can fly over 200 km at high speed while carrying a load at least 3 times its own weight, showing strong potential for emergency rescue and logistics support. | China Science
