Today would have been Jerry Clower's Birthday! He was a hilarious stand-up comedian who, focusing on stories of the rural South, was known as the "The Mouth of Mississippi". He was a good friend of Ray's and even appeared in his 1995 feature film "Get Serious", playing the character of the Colonel. Anyone out there still listen to Jerry Clower? My dad had all of his tapes, & I grew up listening to them. The 1st road trip that my wife and I went on together was less than 2 months after we started dating back in February of 2012. We were high school sweethearts that left out from central Alabama, & traveled to West Louisiana to purchase a started mountain cur gyp. We listened to Jerry most of the way there.
