The faster I can get students to master these, the more time we can spend working on sounding out words and blending! So, at the beginning of the year, I focus on 1 letter a day, doing all 5 of these things: 1. Explicit Instruction with Slides 2. Circle Maps that we create as a class 3. Alphabet Chant with Motions 4. Independent Practice 5. Hands-On Center A
