In returning to Record Plant Studios on April 7, 1969, Jimi Hendrix revisited his first Experience-era, self-penned composition "Stone Free." It was an interesting diversion, as work during recent sessions had not garnered the results Jimi sought and this provided an opportunity to revisit a classic with little pressure.
