Zone 2 doesn’t work! And here is why: A lactate threshold (LT) of 11kph (5:27 min/km 8:46min/mi) in Feb 2024 at a heart rate of 147. March 2025 an LT of 13kph (4:37 min/km 7:26 min/mi) at a heart rate of 157. In 13 months, an improvement of 2kph before seeing an initial rise in blood lactate. However, a rise in heart rate! This clients max heart rate was measured in a max test of 182. And here is the main reason zone 2 doesn’t work: In October LT was measured at 80% of the clients max heart rate
