Showers and rain will build across eastern New South Wales on Wednesday, with Sydney, the Illawarra and Hunter forecast to see a cold, wet and windy day. Persistent showers are forecast to continue into Thursday and Friday. Waves and swell will also build towards the weekend, and coastal conditions could become hazardous.
