Back from the brink! We’re happy to announce a new exhibit at World of Reptiles featuring the Grand Cayman iguana, also known as the blue iguana. There were once less than 20 of these animals in the wild. WCS’s Zoological Health Program, based here at the zoo, has helped with captive breeding, incubating and hatching of eggs, and more to help turn this into a conservation success story. | Bronx Zoo

If you ever wondered why we temporarily close a few of our indoor exhibit buildings during the winter months, here’s a sneak peek at what we’re doing behind the scenes. The closing allows us to refurbish and refresh the animal habitats throughout the exhibit.
