🎾On July 5, 1980 Bjorn Borg (4-time defending champion) successfully defended his title, defeating his rival John McEnroe in the final, 1–6, 7–5, 6–3, 6–7(16–18), 8–6 to win the Gentlemen's Singles tennis title at the Wimbledon Championships. The final of this tournament has often been called one of the greatest and most exciting matches of all time. The most memorable moment in the match may have been the 22-minute, 34-point, 4th-set tiebreak. It was Borg’s 10th career Grand Slam singles title
