Ironically, Sammy Cahn and Jule Styne wrote "Let It Snow" in the summer of 1945. Penned in California during a heat wave, Cahn and Styne were clearly longing for a change of pace. A big Happy Birthday to the amazing Wayne Shorter who just turned 87, yesterday. Arguably one of the greatest composers of our time, Wayne has written countless tunes, both as a member in some of the greatest bands in jazz history and as a soloist.
