George Lucas was originally going to direct Apocalypse Now, but instead he directed Star Wars and incorporated many of the same political themes into that film instead. Does that mean Apocalypse Now is extremely similar to the original Star Wars? If the original Star Wars had the same tone and stylistic approach as Apocalypse Now, would Lucas have achieved his fundamental objective with the film? Do you even understand what I am asking you?
