Lufthansa CANCELS 20,000 Flights to Cut Jet Fuel Costs

Deutsche Lufthansa AG is cutting 20,000 short-haul flights in a cost-saving move aimed at reducing jet fuel consumption, saving around 40,000 tons and impacting about 1% of seat capacity. The airline is also targeting higher profitability through a broader restructuring plan that includes cutting 4,000 administrative jobs by 2030.
