Just a quick post, showing the view of Venus this afternoon, through one of our telescopes. A hasty bit of video, with phone held against the eyepiece, which isn't the ideal way to do it, but it's better than nothing, and shows what can be done with simple methods, as long as you have a telescope. Venus is now slightly less than half-phase, which is seen in the video. Two weeks tomorrow, on 2nd Feb, look out for the crescent Moon, and Venus will be nearby, visible by eye. Watch a Venus flytrap capture its prey! 🪰 Did you know, each individual head of the plant closes at varying speeds, and this head is slightly slower than the others!
