Talking about gator teeth! Normally when an alligator closes it’s mouth the bottom row of teeth fit into sockets in the upper jaw, so only the top row is visible, but there are some unusual gators like muttley here! Maybe he just needs braces 😂. It’s not that uncommon to see some goofy teeth like this, but the norm is to not have the bottom teeth visible when the jaws are closed. Alligator teeth have been used for hundreds of years in the Americas to bring fortune. How or why this custom started is unknown. Alligators shed their teeth, whether they have been damaged or not, so perhaps it was just the fact that they were plentiful and free-people just needed to find a use for them;) These teeth are from farm raised gators and were sold to me by a Native American woman.
