👉A magnetic or inductive wheel speed sensor is made up of a coil of wire around a magnet or magnetic core. As the wheel turns, a toothed metal ring on the wheel hub passes by the sensor. The teeth cause changes in the magnetic field, which induces a voltage in the coil. 👉This voltage creates a sinusoidal (sine wave) output signal, where both the frequency and amplitude of the wave increase as the wheel speeds up. 👉This sensor is essential in modern vehicles for tracking wheel rotation speed.
