Celebrating the Wallowa River in northeast Oregon, designated Wild and Scenic on this day in 1996! The Wallowa River begins in the mountainous wilderness of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest, flowing generally northwest past the eastern Oregon communities of Enterprise and Wallowa.
