Ever since the second season of Defender of the Universe, Vehicle Force has been seen as an outlier of the Voltron universe. Back in 1984, the first 52 episodes of Voltron: Defender of the Universe featured a super force of five space explorers who piloted robotic lions that combined to form Voltron.
