Today is the 60th anniversary of the closure of Glasgow Trams. Summerlee Museum has the only working heritage tramway in Scotland and we are commemorating this event by opening the tram depot for visitors to see the trams and chat to the volunteers who maintain and run them from 12pm – 3pm. Visitors can also enjoy a ride on a Glasgow or Lanarkshire tram and visit the display of tram history in the Exhibition Hall. Returning the token - The driver of Glasgow Corporation 22 tram is dropping off the single line token at the Crich Tramway Village.
