The next stage of works to transform Leeds train station's main entrance begin this week 😯 £46 million is being spent to revamp the area, including surrounding roads, for commuters arriving into the city by train. It comes as major works to redevelop nearby City Square continue to progress. Alongside the changes to the station entrance, New Station Street will be completely pedestrianised. While Neville Street will see a new 'high quality' cycle lane installed as well as improved lighting. 🚵 T

Who knew this about Leeds Train Station!? 🤯 🚂 The main station concourse just off the City Square entrance used to be… a CAR PARK! The concourse was built back in 1937 connecting two of Leeds’ stations at the time, Wellington Station and New Station to form Leeds City Station. But in 1967 they decided to turn the North Concourse into a car park 🚗 It wasn’t until 35 years later in 2002 when they reopened and refurbished this HUGE part of the station, to how it looks now 😜 🚆 | Leeds
