Acrobatic Surfer! This California Sea Lion (#Zalophus californianus) skeleton on display at the San Diego Natural History Musuem in Balboa Park is a work of art. I love the inverted pose, the back arched with gorgeous fore- and hindlimb osteology on full display. Alive, one can usually tell a sea lion from a seal because sea lions have an ear flap. With that character not being preserved here the next thing to look at is the forelimbs, big ones like these mean a sea lion, small ones mean a seal.
