Boost adds more than timing. 1 psi of boost can add 20 hp, 30 hp or even 40 hp (depends on na power), but 1 degree of timing won’t be anywhere near that! Rating Turbos by HP! Rather than continuing to respond individually to all the Turbo “Experts”, this is just easier. Step 1. Choose your turbo (or turbos) base on desired HP output. 2. Choose Your turbo based on NA power output (determines pressure ratio required to reach desired hp). 3. Dial in things like response rate based on steps 1&2. HP is always first! That is all. Do you really need to run a Gen 4 LS when running boost? Today we show the Gen 3 LS Turbo some Love! Can you make big power with the Gen 3 LS motors? Yes-we made 1582 hp before disaster struck, but easily made 100 runs over 1000 hp! 1000-Hp on Pump Gas? Loaded TWO vids today that covered ALL testing I did with @stevemorrisengines recently. We compared the stock LS3 821 heads to the new @afr_heads 275 LS3 Mongoose heads. Thnx for 1M views on the original video where I used a 5.3L LS to drive and flow test the little AMR500 supercharger. Many were confused about this video, wondering why I didn’t use the little blower to boost the LS. The blower was only big enough to support 100-150 hp. It would be a restriction on the 440-hp V8. Don’t be scared! Can I gap now? Can I cam now? Can I go big on injectors now before I add boost? You can do all the prep stuff for boost and run your motor NA til you save up for one of our RHP Boosty Boys! The extra gap won’t hurt power ! With the right tune, larger injectors will idle and cruise and go WOT just like stock ones! You should always add a cam and springs (on Black Friday sale now) to any LS!
