You may have seen me tearing this fabric into 6.5 inch strips in a previous video. Once the strip was pressed, I cut it into 6.5 inch squares using a rotary cutter, ruler, and mat. Tearing keeps the fabric on grain, and pressing the strip first makes cutting accurate and consistent. In 2021, Raewyn shared a quilt on a quilting forum that revolutionised rag quilting techniques. Originally designed for her memory quilts, her inlay method allows the use of non-cotton fabrics while preserving the signature ragged seams.
