Despite their appearance, these are not true sea slugs or “nudibranchs” and are instead in a family called sacoglossans. Sacoglossan means sap-sucker, which is an apt name as they employ something called kleptoplasty in order to steal and uptake the chloroplasts from algae to photosynthesize, creating their own food!
