Usually you don’t have playable pipes right behind your head like this. It was interesting to be able to feel the air coming out right behind you as you play. This organ was built by @taylorandboody whose specialty is German Baroque style instruments but they stepped out of the box and made a quite impressive American Eclectic/Symphonic style instrument here a

Sometimes when exploring a church you stumble across something special and unusual. I discovered this fantastic Victorian, portable hand-pumped organ inside St Mary & All Saints Church in Hawksworth, Nottinghamshire. It was constructed in 1858 by T C Bates & Son of Ludgate Hill, London. When new, it cost of £75, a huge investment for the church at that time. In 2015 it was listed in the Register of Historic Pipe Organs as being
