July 7, 1927 -- Charlie Louvin, of The Louvin Brothers, is born in Section, Alabama. Along with brother Ira, they mix gospel and country, landing on the Grand Ole Opry in 1955. Their professional relationship ended in 1963. Ira and Charlie, broke up due to a combination of factors including declining commercial success, increasing personal tensions, and Ira's alcoholism and erratic behavior.
