One of Balanchine’s last ballets, Mozartiana, which originally premiered in 1933, was dramatically re-choreographed in 1981 for the opening night of the Tschaikovsky Festival. The score is based on music by Mozart along with the comedic opera La Rencontre Imprévue. Here, Principal Dancer Maria Kowroski dances the haunting lead ballerina role from our JAN 23 performance.
