LIVESTOCK LOSS … Farmers in the Omaheke region lost numerous head of cattle due to drought as carcasses were seen in the area during December. Farmer Jesaya Shipingana on Monday said these were scenes in parts of the region before the rainfall in January. He further said some Namibians were left to face the effects of the ravaging drought during the festive holidays. Omaheke is one of the most devastated regions of the drought as their livestock damages and losses are expected to be about N$4.4

“What Do You Do To Make a Living?” Frans Gamseb (60) a pensioner in the Omaheke region says that in his efforts to supplement his social grant, he wakes up as early as 6am. He then proceeds to get his trolley and sets off to look for empty cans in order to sell them to scrap metal buyers or to draw water for others who find it difficult to do it on their own. He adds that this allows him to make about N$50 on good days, but admits that there are days he returns home empty-handed. Gamseb revealed
