2025年1月5日 · The following are unofficial observations taken during January 1-5, 2025 for the lake effect snow that has been affecting our region. Appreciation is extended to highway departments, cooperative observers, Skywarn spotters, and media for these reports.

Local Daily Snowfall and Snow Depth Maps below are updated daily between 11 am and noon. This map is an interpolation of actual reports and should be considered an estimation only.

The highest snowfall totals of over a foot of snow were observed toward the Illinois-Wisconsin state line in portions of Boone, McHenry, and Lake Counties. Many areas along/north of I-80 received 6+" of snow.

2024年11月21日 · Despite unseasonably mild conditions going into the event, snowfall rates at or above 1" per hour resulted in road accumulations, even into downtown Chicago. The heaviest snow lasted about 2-4 hours.
