Wisconsin basketball shared a significant update on Max Klesmit's injury status entering the Big Ten Tournament later this week.

Wisconsin was without Klesmit on Sunday for their loss against Michigan State. They opted to move Kamari McGee to the starting lineup and it's fair to assume they will do the same

The Wisconsin Badgers (23-7, 13-6 Big Ten) return to action on Saturday afternoon against the Penn State Nittany Lions (15-15, 5-14 Big Ten).

Wisconsin guard Max Klesmit will miss the game today against Penn State, per a spokesman. He is expected to be cleared and play in the Big Ten Tournament. This will be the third game in a row that he's missed with a lower body injury.

Klesmit was injured in an 88-62 win over Washington on February 25, playing just five minutes. He is battling a lower body injury. The next opportunity for Klesmit to play before

Wisconsin starting guard Max Klesmit exited with what the team called a lower leg injury early in the Badgers 88-62 win over Washington.

Based on Gard's tone, Klesmit's status doesn't seem serious. The guard suffered a right ankle injury back on Jan. 6 against Rutgers, which prompted him to miss Wisconsin's Jan. 10 game against Minnesota. He then returned to the lineup, although he appears to still be battling the aftermath of that injury.

The Badgers close the regular season with a Saturday afternoon matchup with the Nittany Lions at the Kohl Center.
