一直以来土耳其在国际上的英语翻译都是Turkey，不过在2021年12月的时候，土耳其的总统签署专门的法令。把土耳其的英语翻译从Turkey 修改成 Türkiye，理由是“更能体现土耳其民族的文化、文明和价值观”。
