The Texas House failed to meet quorum for the third time on Friday, as a political showdown continues to play out between Texas Republicans and Democrats over redistricting mid-decade.

Texas Democrats on Saturday again prevented their state’s House of Representatives from moving forward with a Trump-backed plan to redraw Texas' congressional map. That redistricting plan would give Republicans an advantage in keeping control of the House of Representatives in D.

Following through on his pledge to use all means necessary to find, arrest and return absconding House Democrats to Texas, the Texas House, led by House Speaker Dustin Burrows, R-Lubbock, sued Democrats hiding out in California.
