Multiple US B-2 bombers appear to have taken off from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri on Friday night and are heading west, according to flight tracking data CNN has reviewed, as President Donald Trump weighs his military options over a potential airstrike in Iran.

The B-2 deployment appeared to be a show of force as Trump says he is holding out hope Iran will agree to shutter its nuclear program voluntarily.

The move signals the U.S. is getting the bombers in place if they are needed for a strike on Iran, but officials said there had been no order given to ready a B-2 strike.
