States that do not recognize Juneteenth as a permanent state holiday include Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Hawaii, Indiana, Mississippi, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Wisconsin and Wyoming, as of June 17. This means Juneteenth is not a paid day off in these states.

This year, Juneteenth falls on Thursday, June 19, 2025. Since it's now a federal holiday, that means some official government services — including mail delivery and banking — may be operating under special holiday hours or even closed. Some other companies or stores might also have special hours in honor of the day.
