A court in Hong Kong adjourned a national security trial hearing of media mogul Jimmy Lai on Friday due to concerns about his health after his defense said he had been experiencing heart palpitations.

A court hearing for jailed Hong Kong media mogul Jimmy Lai was postponed on Thursday due to bad weather, further lengthening a national security trial that began in 2023.The judiciary said Thursday that those due to attend postponed hearings should return on Friday.

Lai, who has been charged under a Beijing-backed law critics say has been used to crack down on dissent, will be back in court on Monday.
