The Dow picked up momentum, and popped 1.3%, or more than 600 points, regaining its 50-day moving average and revisiting the 46,000 level. The S&P 500 hoisted 1.6%. The Nasdaq composite was the biggest gainer of the major indexes and powered up 2.2%.
