Code readers are typically reasonably priced, easy to use, read/clear DTCs and reset the CEL. Scan tools cost more than code readers.

Like most code readers, the FIXD module plugs into your vehicles OBD-II port and uses Bluetooth to connect to your phone. The App will connect to your car and give you all the current information.

Since so many things can cause a check engine light to turn on, you would need to use a car code reader or scan tool to get any further without professional assistance.
