There is no tsunami threat to Hawaii after a large 6.8 magnitude earthquake Saturday night off Russia in the same area of Tuesday’s 8.8 magnitude quake that generated a Pacific-wide tsunami, officials said.

The worst predictions did not come to pass after a major earthquake off the coast of Russia sent a surge of water across the Pacific.
