The Loop on MSNU.S. Open 2025: Caitlin Clark asks logical question about Oakmont, PGA Tour pro answersThe WNBA superstar–and avid golfer—made her return to the basketball court on Saturday in thrilling fashion with a 32-point, seven three-pointer performance. But on Sunday, it appears that she's posted up on her couch watching the U.S. Open. And it got her wondering about taking on the famed Pittsburgh-area track.
It is of no consolation to the players that, unlike most venues, the conditions don’t change much. Oakmont plays nearly as difficult for the amateur membership as it does for the world’s best pros.

GOLF.com on MSNFormer U.S. Open champion accused of damaging historic Oakmont lockersThe incident marks the second time in two months that Wyndham Clark's name has been tied to major-championship mayhem.
OAKMONT, Pa. – J.J. Spaun’s closing pursuit of major glory began at 3 a.m. Sunday in, of all places, a CVS in downtown Pittsburgh. Spaun’s almost 2-year-old daughter, Violet, had woken up with a stomach bug, and mere hours into Father’s Day, dad duty called.
Corey Conners was among the favorites coming into the U.S. Open, but after a freak accident on Saturday, he had to pull out of the tournament.
Spaun defeated Robert MacIntyre (68) by one shot and Viktor Hovland (73) by three. Spaun overcame bogeys on five of his first six holes, then broke away from a five-way tie for the lead with four birdies on his last seven holes to win.
