The three-time SWAC coach of the year and Celebration Bowl champion joins a new coaching regime in the Sun Belt.

Fobbs — who joins defensive line coach Jerone Steckel as recent hires by South Alabama head coach Major Applewhite — is the Jaguars’ fourth running backs coach since the end of the 2022 season.

South Alabama has hired Broderick Fobbs as running backs coach, has learned. Fobbs spent the last 2 seasons at Louisiana-Monroe. Prior to that was head coach at Grambling State from 2014-21.
