The film industry will honor Tom Cruise this fall with an Honorary Academy Award for lifetime achievement, along with the choreographer Debbie Allen and the production designer Wynn Thomas.

Tom Cruise, Dolly Parton, Debbie Allen and Wynn Thomas are set to be the honorees at this year’s Governors Awards, as given by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the organization behind the Oscars.

And yet, Tom Cruise has yet to win an Oscar – despite four nominations. Now, that Golden Baldie dearth is about to be rectified as the 62-year-old actor will finally receive an Academy Award this year.
