Ben Johnson is remaining in the NFC North, opting to take a head coaching job with one of the Detroit Lions' top rivals. The Chicago Bears officially announced Johnson as their next head coach on Tuesday.

The Bears on Tuesday announced that the charter franchise has named Ben Johnson as head coach. "A proven leader with winning pedigree and a mind toward innovation, we are excited to welcome Ben and his family to Chicago as our head coach," said general manager Ryan Poles.

The team announced Tuesday morning that Johnson, formerly the Lions offensive coordinator, officially signed to become their 18th head coach. The Bears agreed to terms with him Monday, winning a fierce competition for the top candidate on the market.
