The Google Chromecast is officially being retired after an 11-year run. Add another one to the pile of discontinued products most of its customers aren't particularly pleased to see go.

Google announced the end of Chromecast production after 11 years and more than 100 million devices sold. The company introduced the Google TV Streamer, a premium device for modern entertainment.

The device is listed alongside the existing HD and 4K models of Chromecast with Google TV. You may remember that earlier in the year, a device with the codename “YTC” appeared in the app’s code.

At the same time, Google changed the original device’s name to Chromecast with Google TV (4K). The Chromecast with Google TV (HD) is pretty much as awesome as its 4K counterpart.
