President Donald Trump on Monday said he would welcome a “bidding war” for TikTok as he appeared to confirm that Microsoft is among the companies that have declared interest in acquiring the popular social media platform.

The new president is tossing out some of the biggest names in the tech world as possible buyers of TikTok’s US operations, most recently Microsoft. 'I like bidding wars because you make your best deals.

U.S. President Donald Trump predicted on Monday there will be many people bidding to own TikTok, and he does not want China involved in the popular social media company.

Microsoft reportedly has an interest in acquiring TikTok. According to BBC, President Donald Trump has revealed the tech company would like to purchase the platform and adds that there is “great interest in TikTok” from several companies.
