According to new reports from sources close to Rockstar Games, Red Dead Redemption 2 is being developed for the Switch 2, Nintendo’s upcoming console, which is set to release on June 5.

Rockstar's Western epic will be released on Nintendo Switch 2 later this year, according to several sources, alongside a next gen patch for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Red Dead Redemption 2 was released for PS4 and Xbox One in November 2018, and the game is fully playable on PS5 via backwards compatibility. Back in October 2023, RDR2 was updated to include 60 FPS.

With Red Dead Redemption 2 coming up on its seventh birthday, it's still one of the best games ever made, and well worth revisiting in 2025.
